Outgoing House member Louie Gohmert disclosed today that a number of whistleblowers have come to him with information on FBI misconduct and corruption.
Gohmert, R-Tex., gave up his House seat to run for Texas attorney general, but was defeated in the primary.
Gohmert joins Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, in making that assertion. Gohmert's comments were aired by Fox News today.
Gohmert denounced Garland's attempt to prevent whistleblowers from exercising "free speech" to speak directly with lawmakers. Legislative oversight requires that lawmakers be informed of internal matters that officials may wish to conceal, he argued.
Gohmert, a former judge, also chastised the judge who issued the Mar a Lago search warrant for accepting a "fishing expedition." U.S. Magistrate Bruce E. Reinhart, known as an anti-Trumper, failed to require that the warrant specify particulars, Gohmert said.
The Texan also rebuked Reinhart for failing to be suspicious of Justice Department motives in light of the fraudulence of a previous warrant and the fact that a number of persons in the FBI and Justice Department had faced one form or another of discipline after their "get-Trump-no-matter-how" bias was exposed. Gohmert, who as a judge had ruled on numerous warrant applications, argued that Reinhart should have been much less cooperative when confronted with the FBI application.

Jordan, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, has said he has been dealing with whistleblower allegations against officials at the Justice Department and FBI since November.
Jordan has said that 14 whistleblowers from within the FBI came forward to his office, and that more whistleblowers were likely to follow. In a telecast, Jordan said,

Fourteen FBI agents have come to our office as whistleblowers, and they are good people. There are lots of good people in the FBI. It’s the top that’s the problem. But some of these good agents are coming to us telling us this is bologna what’s going on, the political nature now of the Justice Department.Senators Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee are among Republicans who have talked of FBI whistleblowers in touch with lawmakers.
